Student Assists in Medical Emergency
At Carshalton High School for Girls we recognise not only the importance of encouraging students to flourish academically but also to take their place in the CHSG community and the wider community.
We are very proud to share a letter we received from a member of the public in response to Kiera's assistance in a recent medical emergency.
I write to inform you of the courageous effort one of your wonderful pupils that shared passion in their local community!
Sunday 23rd May, I was walking my dog, when I collapsed & had Multiple seizures, Kiera C (Year 11), her sister and father looked after me, opened my airway, put me in the recovery position, called an ambulance and tried to catch my very scared and nervous rescue dog.
I am a registered A&E nurse and a St John ambulance trainer.
Although I was unconscious, my fellow colleague, paramedic staff and husband informed me Kiera was just simply amazing during the chaotic Incident!
I have since been in contact with this lovely young lady after popping up a poster in the park.
Of course, I’ve thanked her and would like her to know how special she is by letting school know.
Many thanks Kellyjane
