Examination Results Summer 2023
We are very proud of the achievements of all our students, particularly those who sat their examinations in 2023. Showing remarkable resilience, hard work and determination, they have achieved outstandingly well and their commitment to their education and studies was central to this success.
Despite the challenges presented over the past number of years, we believe that achieving our best results proves that the actions and decisions we made both during lockdown and more recently have ensured our students are well-prepared to be successful and ready for the next stage of their life.
These results have placed Carshalton High School for Girls as the most improved secondary school in Sutton and the top 8% of all schools across the country for progress.
Key Stage 4 (238 students)

25% of grades were 7-9 (equivalent to A*/A grades)

54% of students attained a strong pass Grade 5 (equivalent to a high grade C/low grade B) or better in both GCSE English and Mathematics.

The Attainment 8 score was 52.7.

Official Progress 8 scores is 0.42 meaning our students have made much greater than expected progress based on their individual starting points.

44% of pupils entered the English Baccalaureate (EBacc). EBacc average point score (APS) 4.5.

86% of students attained at least a good pass in English Language or Literature.

81% of students attained at least a good pass in Mathematics.

The % of top grades A*/A was 12%.

The % of A*/B was 28%.

The average attainment score was 26. The average grade was C.

79% of our students gained access to their first choice university, 89% went to university and 13% attended Russell Group universities.
