External examinations at Carshalton Girls are regulated by the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ).
It is essential that students are aware of and abide by the guidelines for exams.
The Contingency Day is a date set by the examination boards, in case they need to reschedule an exam, due to a national or significant local disruption to the exam timetable.
Students must be available on the contingency date, i.e. no holidays should be booked before this date.
Examination Contingency Day for Summer 2026 exams: Wednesday 24 June 2026
Students should read and familiarise themselves with the attached documents published by the JCQ, in order to be fully aware of the regulations they must follow during external examinations and assessments.
The school uses these regulations for internal exams so that students are familiar with expectations.
In addition to the JCQ regulations, Ofqual and the Department for Education have produced student guides.
