The Sixth Form are hosting a Christmas movie night for Years 7 and 8 on Tuesday 19th December from 3-5pm.
Following a student poll, the movie playing will be Home Alone. Tickets are £2 each and there will be refreshments to purchase on the night, so make sure your child has change. Students are welcome to bring blankets and get comfy for this holiday classic.

This year's CHSG Music Winter Concert is on Tuesday 12th December. Tickets are available via Parent Pay and there will be some availability on the door.
Tickets cost £2 each and there will be light refreshments available on the night.
Rehearsals are underway and the acts are sounding brilliant – a lot of hard work has gone into it. Thank you once again for your support of the music department. We look forward to seeing you there.
Once again, this year we will be decorating Christmas Hampers to be filled and donated to our local community. Each tutor group will have the chance to decorate their box during form time. This year the focus is on using less plastic and making the hampers sustainable. Completed hampers will be judged by the house team on Thursday 13th December.
In order for this drive to be a success, we are asking for donations to fill the hampers. Examples of items include tins, small gifts, chocolate, mince pies, toiletries, biscuits and dry food.

Wear It Pink
On Friday 29th September, the Sixth Form held a very successful cake sale to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The Sixth form will be hosting the McMillan Coffee morning on Friday 29th September outside the Sixth form Common Room.
Please note that it is early closure on Thursday 21st September due to the Secondary Transfer Evening. The Friday is an Inset Day.
This year we are inviting parents/carers of all years to attend a Parent Information Evening at CHSG.
These evenings are designed to give you an opportunity to meet with your child's tutors informally, where you will be able to ask questions, see students work and see some of the work that will be studied over the year.
This will be followed by a talk from the Head of Year looking at the curriculum for our students, as well as setting expectations and discussing the other opportunities your children will have access to.

We understand choosing a secondary school is a very big decision.
We know we have a strong offer here at CHSG and we would like to invite you to attend our Secondary Transfer Evening and see our school. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and to have a guided tour which includes a talk by our headteacher.

Huge congratulations to all our Year 11 students on their fantastic GCSE results today. Despite difficult circumstances over the last few years and a downward trend in the national picture, our students have continued to excel and performed tremendously well with 80% achieving level 4 in English and Maths and over and 80% achieving 5+ GCSEs including English and Maths. This is another positive upward step for #teamchsg!
Our results continue to improve year on year and this is testament to the hard work every day. A spectacular achievement: we are so proud of all the work and effort put in by our students, their parents/carers and our staff.
We look forward to welcoming many of our Year 11 students back to our Sixth Form in September and wish every one of you all the very best for the future!
We are absolutely thrilled and delighted with our Key Stage 5 results this year. Our students have worked incredibly hard throughout what has been a tough and challenging number of years. These results are testament to the dedication and commitment of both our staff and students.
