This year we are inviting parents/carers of all years to attend a Parent Information Evening at CHSG.
These evenings are designed to give you an opportunity to meet with your child's tutors informally, where you will be able to ask questions, see students work and see some of the work that will be studied over the year.
This will be followed by a talk from the Head of Year looking at the curriculum for our students, as well as setting expectations and discussing the other opportunities your children will have access to.

We know we have a strong offer here at CHSG and we would like to invite you to attend our Secondary Transfer Evening and see our school. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and to have a guided tour which includes a talk by our headteacher.
Secondary School Transfer Evening was on 21 September 2023.

Huge congratulations to all our Year 11 students on their fantastic GCSE results today. Despite difficult circumstances over the last few years and a downward trend in the national picture, our students have continued to excel and performed tremendously well with 80% achieving level 4 in English and Maths and over and 80% achieving 5+ GCSEs including English and Maths. This is another positive upward step for #teamchsg!
Our results continue to improve year on year and this is testament to the hard work every day. A spectacular achievement: we are so proud of all the work and effort put in by our students, their parents/carers and our staff.
We look forward to welcoming many of our Year 11 students back to our Sixth Form in September and wish every one of you all the very best for the future!
We are absolutely thrilled and delighted with our Key Stage 5 results this year. Our students have worked incredibly hard throughout what has been a tough and challenging number of years. These results are testament to the dedication and commitment of both our staff and students.
Well done on completing Year 11 and your results.
We are really looking forward to seeing you in the Sixth Form.
To stay on at the Sixth Form at Carshalton High School for Girls the next steps are:
All bridging work has been emailed to the students.
Dear Year 13,
Results day takes place on Thursday 17th August. Students will be able to come on site between 8.30am and 10.30am to collect their results and more specific details will follow in due course. When you receive your results envelopes, there will be a letter enclosed indicating your next steps in the form of an exit survey. Please can you complete this and place this form in the box as you leave.
Staff will be available to give advice and support regarding university offers and progression into employment. We will have computers available in S12 should you need IT access. Please have a look at the following website to help prepare you for the day if you are applying to university:

How can I prepare?
There are a number of things you can do to get ready for the big day. Having all the important information to hand will prove useful, especially if your results are lower than expected and you plan to apply for a place through Clearing.
You'll likely need:
What do I do if I met my offer?
If you're holding at least one conditional place and you've met the requirements, the offer will change to 'unconditional'. This firm acceptance is confirmed in UCAS Hub, and you'll then receive details on what you need to do next, and when - either from UCAS, or directly from the university. For example, some institutions will ask you to provide evidence of your qualifications.
If you've used UCAS Extra | No Offers? Add More Choices With Our 'Extra' Service to add another choice - and have been offered a place - you'll just need to accept it by the date displayed in UCAS Hub. There's also the option of adding another choice, should you wish to decline the offer.
What if I don’t get the grades?
Don't panic, as there are a number of options open to you.
Firstly, if you've missed the grades by just a few marks, you should talk to the university in question. While they're under no obligation to reconsider their decision, especially with places so competitive, they may listen to you if you plan to appeal any grades.
Alternatively, you could simply accept the decision and go through the results day Clearing process instead.
Can I defer my university place on results day?
You can ask your university to defer your place for a year if you don't already hold a deferred offer. While this can technically be done up until the start date, the earlier you tell them, the better. Be prepared to explain your reasons.
While many universities will agree to this, if they don't, you could choose to withdraw your application for this year and then reapply when the process begins for the next student intake.
What if I get better grades than expected?
If you managed to meet and exceed the conditions of your firm offer, and you're happy with that then that's great. However, if you'd like to explore the possibility of picking an alternative course requiring higher grades, you can now simply do this through the UCAS Clearing service.
While UCAS Adjustment is no longer available, you're able to decline your place and change your course and university through the Clearing process instead.
We really look forward to seeing you on the Thursday 17th August but if you know in advance that you will not be available then please email Mrs Maybury at rmaybury@carshaltongirls.org.uk and we can arrange to have the results emailed to you.
If you have any questions or queries at this stage, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Best wishes,

It gives us great delight to be able to congratulate Red House for all their participation and hard work in making them the overall winners of the House Achievement points this year.
It’s been a fabulous year leading Red House to this victory. However, full credit must go to our amazing students, who have gone over and above participating in events such as the MacMillan Coffee Morning, Anti-bullying poster campaign and Hamper Box design to name but a few activities, where red house earned the most points.
A massive thank you must also be given to all the students in yellow, green and blue houses for all their participation in the house events. There is no doubt that they will be aiming to take the leadership title next year. Also, a big thank you to Mrs Norman, the Heads of House and staff who have all helped to organise and promote the range of events that have been put on throughout this academic year.
As we look forward to the last week of term and a well-deserved rest, it goes without saying that Red House will be back in September with the hope of rising to the top once again with the MasterChef competition as our first house event.
Ms Henry and the Heads of House
Below are the overall House results for 2022-23:
This year our GCSE results day will take place on Thursday 24h August, 9.00-11.00am.
We want to celebrate with our students and be able to congratulate them face to face on their achievements and so would like to invite them in to school to collect their results. Students will be able to come on site between 9am and 11am to collect their results.
Results will be handed out in the Hall and access to this will be via the school back gate and then through the gate by E21. Once there, walk through the Gym to the Hall.
The options students have to receive their results are as follows:
Please note: email results will go out after 11am, please do not contact the exams office until after 12pm if you haven’t had them.
When students receive their results envelopes, there will be a letter enclosed indicating whether they have been awarded a place at CHSG Sixth Form. If all the option choices remain the same then they should tick, sign and gain a confirmation signature from a member of the Sixth Form Team to secure their place. If a student wishes to take up their place with us but has decided to change their subjects, they just need to indicate their new subject choices and speak to a member of the Sixth Form Team. However, should your child not have secured a place in our Sixth Form we will have staff on site should they need some advice on the next steps.
Students are not to leave the hall without having completed all relevant administrative tasks found within their envelope.
Changes of courses are subject to students obtaining the entry requirement grade for the course selected.
Either Mrs Norman, Miss Phelps-Gardiner or Miss Ishola will sign off their confirmation of a Sixth Form place.
If your child has any queries about their sixth form options or would like to join our Sixth Form, Mrs Norman will be at a desk with Miss Ishola and Miss Phelps-Gardener to hold the 1-1 meetings.
On results day there may be the possibility that some students and parents are concerned about their results. To help with this, full information regarding any possible action that can be taken with regard to reviews and access to copies of scripts can be found under the Exam section on the school website.
Certificates will be issued by the Boards towards the end of the year and further information regarding their collection/dispatch will be sent out nearer the time.
We really look forward to seeing your child on 24th August but if you have any questions or queries at this stage, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
