Student: I have been held in an “waiting room/lobby” ready for my online lesson for some time and I haven’t been let in. What should I do?
Come out of the meeting, close down Teams (windows if in the browser or the app) and then try again. If you are still unable to join the lesson, please email your teacher.
Student: I am unable to join the MS Teams meeting because I have received the message “Ask your IT administrator for access.”
This is because incorrect information has been inputted when joining the meeting. Students should enter their full name, not their school email address.
A student doesn’t have computer access online learning at home.
Parents should contact the school office and/or email the Head of Year. Depending on the circumstances, a laptop loan may be available.
A laptop loan has been arranged, but we have discovered there is a fault with the laptop.
Please contact the school office explaining the nature of the fault and to organise a time to return the laptop to the school. We will need to investigate the fault further. A replacement laptop loan will be organised, if required
A student is struggling to access lessons due to poor wifi access at home.
To assist with on-line learning, the government has introduced a scheme to temporarily increase the data allowance for mobile phones on certain networks. Mobile phones can to be tethered to a computer/laptop to allow the 4G mobile network to be used as an internet connection. A letter has been sent to parents. Parents must apply using the embedded link in the letter.
We have had a change in financial circumstances, what support can the school can offer?
Some families may be eligible to receive Free School Meals (FSM). If eligible they will receive FSM vouchers which can be spent on food shopping whilst we are in lockdown. Please go to the FSM page and complete the eligibility checker.
