Local Governing Body
Governance
On 1st April 2018 Carshalton High School for Girls joined the Girls’ Learning Trust (GLT) and the systems of CHSG governance changed significantly. The 3 schools (CHSG, Nonsuch and Wallington) in the GLT are governed by a Trust Board, comprised of 8 trustees and a Chief Executive Officer. This board is responsible for;
-
The overall vision of the Trust;
-
The finances of the schools in the Trust;
-
The human resources within the 3 schools;
-
The performance of the schools in the Trust;
-
Admissions (Delegated to Carshalton LGB);
-
Accountable for major building projects.
Each school has a Local Governing Body (LGB) which reports to the Trust at trust board meetings. The LGB is responsible for:
-
Admissions;
-
The school’s curriculum;
-
Attendance;
-
Special Educational Needs and Pupil Premium students;
-
Safeguarding in line with trust policy;
-
Health and safety in line with trust policy;
The Carshalton LGB meets on average four times a year, once in the autumn and spring terms, twice in the summer term.
The Chair of the LGB is Mr Malcolm Munro, the Vice-Chair Mr Chris Cox. The Chair and Vice-Chair are appointed by the Trust Board annually. A full list of the present governors is set out below together with their responsibilities. Any governor can be contacted by writing to them via the school.
