Over the next two years of their course, they will also study “Frankenstein”, “The Handmaid’s Tale”, “The Feminine Gospels”, “The Great Gatsby” and an anthology of poetry.

This is quite a number of texts.  In our extensive experience of teaching Literature, it would be a great advantage for students to have their own copies of the texts. This would allow them to make numerous annotations during the course of study.  We have chosen the study editions with great care; “Othello”, for example, has its own comprehensive study notes which will be a great help to students when it comes to revision and as we go through it in class. 

The advantage to students has prompted us to suggest very strongly that copies are purchased for students.  A very reasonable sum of £34 would ensure that students have their own copies of all the required texts. The low prices are a result of us being able to buy in bulk and negotiate discounts with suppliers.  The poetry anthology is provided by AQA, free of charge.
