Carshalton Girls offers Sport Scholarship and Music Scholarship programmes. Scholarship students take priority over some other admissions criteria. A maximum of the equivalent of 10% (24 places) of our admissions number per year group will be designated for Music or Sport scholarships which qualify for entry to the school. This is up to 12 places in music and up to 12 places in sport.

It is important to note that if a girl is accepted onto the scholarship list, Carshalton High School for Girls must be named as a preference on the Common Application Form.

Once at the school, students will access a bespoke programme of support and development that will stretch and challenge them in their scholarship subject. Details of the scholarship programmes are found in the flyers attached to this page.

The application form for scholarships will be live from September 2026

    Assessment Procedure for Sports Scholarship

The assessment lasts for approximately one hour during which time each student will work alongside other applicants on a variety of skill and fitness-related tasks. Activities are assessed by the PE department and the Senior Leadership Team.

The assessment will also consider the reference from the sports coach or team manager.
