    • New CHSG House names

      Published 17/01/25

It has been a very exciting time at CHSG in terms of our houses. In the initial meeting of student council back in September, the girls expressed that they wanted to update the current house names (Red, Yellow, Blue and Green) to be named after inspirational women that embodied the school values and the qualities they want to grow in. It was vital to us that these women reflected the diversity amongst our students and represented a variety of disciplines. Both students and staff gave their feedback and the results were shared in our whole school assembly this week. Work will now begin to fully embed these new houses in school life. I am delighted to inform you that the new houses are as follows:

    • Year 7 Football

      Published 29/11/24

On Thursday 21st of November, the Year 7 team had their third fixture of the season against Sutton High. Within the first five minutes of the first half, the ball was mainly in our attacking half, with the girls all working well together as a team to pass the ball around.

Dali-Rae received a lovely pass from midfield that she passed across the box to Sofia B, who had an amazing strike, and the girls secured their first goal!

Not long before half-time, Sofia B went on to score another goal for the team with the score being 2-1 at half-time. After a team talk, the team were ready for the second half of the match, despite the freezing cold! Lola G managed to get a great few attempts on target and then a goal, securing the third goal of the game. Sophie B and Maise M worked well together in midfield and upfront, with Sophie B getting a wonderful strike right into the corner, making the score 4-2.

The team kept working hard passing the ball around the back, communicating, and not one ball was able to get past Myla P who was playing centre back, with Halle H, Evie P and Ruby H getting some fantastic tackles.

Frances H, Emily A, and Jumaymah A, all playing in midfield, showed great skills and worked well to get the ball up the pitch. Elizabeth (GK) had some absolutely fantastic saves in the game, even with Sutton having a few corners, Elizabeth was not letting any shots get passed her! I am so proud of how well they all played, and how well they have bonded as a team on the pitch. Well done to Sophie B, who won player of the game, and well done to all who took part.

Keep the hard work up and let's hope for a few more wins this season!
