Green House

I would like to welcome all new and returning staff and students back to school for another year of hard work and some serious House competition! An extra special welcome to our Yr. 7s and Yr. 12s joining us this year – we look forward to having you on board and to getting you involved in as many events as possible! May I also take this opportunity to introduce our House Captain, Uma (13G1), and thank her for her support in getting things organised for the House events so far this year.

What an exciting start to the year this has been – from the Macmillan Coffee Morning hosted by the Sixth Form to our celebration of ‘Wear it Pink Day’ to the ever-popular Penny Trail Poppy Appeal and new for this year, the great CHSG Christmas Hamper-Decorating House Competition! Your donations to all of these events have been truly overwhelming with Green House raising a whopping £254 for the Breast Cancer Now charity on Wear it Pink Day in October and over £30 in pennies for the Poppy Appeal! Thank you all!

Your Christmas Hamper donations have now all been sent off to local charities and I would like to say a big thank you for your continued generosity this year! In addition, huge congratulations to 9G2 for the Best Decorated Hamper 2022! The decision was certainly not an easy one given the extremely high quality of the decorated hampers this year, but your hamper shone through them all!

Thank you to everyone for getting so heavily involved in this event this year! I understand it was an afternoon of great fun, relaxation and getting to know each other and your tutor a little better, whilst competing against your peers for that coveted prize of best hamper!

A record number of you have also been clocking up Golden Tickets and House Achievement points for your very hard work both in and outside of lessons and for demonstrating our core school values. All these have been adding up very nicely, and we hope to be able to hold onto our top spot this year again as you continue to support the House in this and a wide variety of other ways!

Remember to look out for

the upcoming House activities in the New Year

 and get involved!

Every little helps!

My continuing wish is for each member of ‘The Greens’ to recognise they have a purpose within the House. Teamwork and genuinely appreciating the worth of each person around you is key to the success of any community. If everyone contributes just a little in every event that comes along, you’d be surprised at the cumulative effect of such participation.
