From September the timings for the school day will change. There will also be a trial period of the new timings 10th-13th July.

There are 3 key changes:

  1. School will begin earlier at 8.30am
  2. There will be a split lunchtime with 2 sittings for lunch
  3. We will finish earlier everyday at 2.45pm

  • Key Stage 3 students will have lunch first and then have their period 4 as an hour lesson during 4b and 4c
  • Key Stage 4 students will have lunch second during 4c so that their period 4 will be an hour during 4a and 4b
  • KS5 lunchtime may vary
The reason this decision has been taken is due to our increased student numbers. In September, we will have an additional 80 students in school on top of the growth of the last 3 years. There is severe pressure at lunchtime with some students having to queue for an unacceptable amount of time and we are finding it extremely challenging at the end of the day for students to be able to get onto buses as they are already full with students from other schools.

We have decided to trial this on Tuesday 10th July – Friday 13th July

Students will be advised more specifically how the logistics for the day will work, however please note that for these 4 days school will begin at 8.30am and finish at 2.45pm.
