Year 8 Options Evening
The Year 8 Options Evening will be held on Thursday 21st March 2019 from 6.30 pm – 8.30 pm.
At Carshalton High School for Girls we are committed to working together to ensure that students' GCSE choices are appropriate and the process of choosing them is as informed and stress free as possible. We have provided a broad range of subjects which will ensure that the option choices made by our students maximises their potential.
Parents and students are invited to attend the Year 8 Options Evening where Mrs Jones, Headteacher and Mr Conduit-Smith, Deputy Headteacher will explain the process in full. Subject information will be displayed around the school where guests can talk to subject staff about the different courses available.
The week before the Options Evening students will be issued with their own Options Booklet. This outlines the choices available and information on how to make these choices. After the Options Evening we will be inviting all Year 8 parents and students to attend an individual meeting with a member of the senior leadership team or the Year 8 pastoral team. These meetings will take place during the week commencing 25th March 2019. Parents can book a slot via the parents’ evening portal. Further guidance is available by clicking here. During this meeting students and parents will be given individual guidance regarding GCSE choices.

CHSG Careers Fair
The CHSG Careers Fair 2019 will also be held on Thursday 21st March from 6.30 pm.
We are very pleased that a number of people from a broad spectrum of careers will be present to promote and explain their career paths together with a number of agencies who can advise on career opportunities. We are inviting parents, carers and students from Years 8 - 13 to come along and meet with these professionals in order to gain an insight into their profession and what pathways they took to get there. Attending this Careers Evening may help students to make informed University choices and/or inspire them towards a future career, which in turn may influence the GCSE courses they choose.
