Update: on-site building developments

Whilst it is hugely exciting to have secured the funding for the main new build ('J' Block) and the recent additional funding for 'D' and 'F' blocks, we have been holding meetings with the contractors to discuss the programmes of works.

Whilst it is hugely exciting to have secured the funding for the main new build ('J' Block) and the recent additional funding for 'D' and 'F' blocks, we have been holding meetings with the contractors to discuss the programmes of works.

I would like to advise you that there is going to be significant disruption across the site in the second half of the summer term. 'D' block will be taken out of commission to have it ready in time for September and the last phase of work linked to the new build, that is, the outside space (erecting a new multi use games area, levelling of the field and returning it grass) is also due to be started. This will mean disruption to PE lessons.

Work is also due to begin on re-modelling the Sixth Form Centre, although the majority of work for this, plus the demolition of the old mobile huts and the roofing to 'F' block, will take place during the summer break.

Examinations are our top priority and there will be no disruption or disturbance to these. Disruption to the remainder of classes will be minimised as much as possible, but it is going to be a challenge.
