Following attending the open day on Tuesday [18th September], I wanted to contact you in regards to one of your pupils. A young lady whose name I think was Kia (year 10), showed my family and another family around the outside sports area. The young lady was very passionate about the sports facilities and the school as a whole and is an amazing ambassador for your school. After listening to the young lady’s enthusiastic, positive and honest review of her time at Carshalton High School for girls, my daughter is now determined that your school is her first choice!

I am emailing on behalf of the team at Suite TV Ltd regarding Mia. I would just like to say a big thank you to Mia this week as she has been amazing! Hard working and determined to help when needed, didn’t fail to impress at all. The runners she worked alongside were extremely grateful for her assistance, and I very much hope that she gained further knowledge into our industry!

I wanted to write and let you know how brilliant Mrs Greenland's parents evening was last night. Her guest speakers were engaging and enthusiastic and very informative. And it was obvious that Mrs Greenland cares about each girl's future and I think that the meeting proved this. We now feel enlightened and with this new information, we will be able to make informed choices regarding L's future. In fact, both my husband and I felt that it was the best meeting that we have ever attended at the school!

I have been more than impressed with the school so far. My daughter’s Year 7 parents evening was even better than I could have wished for. All of the teachers I met were friendly and enthusiastic and lovely to see the headmistress, Mrs Jones, greeting us and offering assistance. It’s great being kept informed via e-mail. I’m completely confident that I’ve chosen the best school for my daughter.

As a mum to a daughter in year 4 the event was of personal as well as professional interest to me. The girls I met were a real credit to the school without exception. They were all polite, enthusiastic and engaged and I was asked some intelligent questions about a career that many of them had never heard of before. In fact the conversations were varied, from a 12 year old girl who is considering being a primary school teacher to a sixth former (I think) who has not only decided that she wanted to be a Doctor but has already mapped out that she wants to specialize in Gynaecology and work in developing countries where she can be of more help - what focus and determination. The pupil who made the chocolate brownies also deserves an A* in Food Tech, they were so delicious I was tempted to see if I could take some home with me. We would happily attend another event when you hold it. Sam

I wanted to say how proud we are of my daughters progress in such a short time at your school. All the teachers that we met for Grace were so enthusiastic and encouraging of her future development. Choosing a secondary school is difficult as you know, I came home last night [from Year 7 parents' evening] knowing we've made a good choice. Thank you again for your enthusiasm and kind approach to teaching.

I would also like to take this opportunity to mention how well presented the open day was this morning – all three of us attended and were very impressed with your school and all facilities you offer your pupils - our Daughter was especially excited to see the wonderful sports facilities, there is such a large choice on offer. It was very clear to see that all pupils we met are very happy and settled, it was an extremely happy environment. On a final note, we would like to send our thanks to Holly and Chelsea, the lovely girls that showed us around the school, as they offered a very good tour and were very informative, they answered all questions asked very well.

I am contacting you on behalf of our team at our watersports centre, Le Lac Mimizan in the south west of France. Miss Golightly recently brought a group of CHSG pupils on a watersports trip to our Le Lac Mimizan centre and I would like to pass on the appreciation of all our staff that thoroughly enjoyed teaching them. The group were well-mannered, enthusiastic, friendly and a credit to your school and we would be delighted to welcome a group back in the future. I hope all the pupils and staff who went on the trip had a fantastic time and have recuperated fully from what was a very active and busy week.

It's quite an achievement to get that far and I'd like you to pass on my congratulations to them, and of course, to you. I would like to express my thanks to you and all your staff for hosting the recent Sutton Regional Final of the Jack Petchey's "Speak Out" Challenge! I understand that the evening was a great success with your school providing student ambassadors, supporters, entertainment and wonderful hospitality. I would particularly like to pass on my thanks to the teachers who put so much into the organisation of the whole event. A quote from Ian Hicks, one of the Judges, says it all: "Unbelievable! Blown away by the passion, originality, confidence and sheer quality". The programme has been a great success since the first workshop in April 2006, and to date over 100,000 students have benefited. These type of events, where young people see and hear their peers speaking passionately about real issues, provide a marvellous showcase for the skills and talents of today's teenagers.

They are very astute and learn quickly, very polite and work well together, excellent with their Maths and I am sure will do very well. I hope they enjoyed themselves too and wish them well in their education.

I just wanted to congratulate you for this evening's show! [Sweeney Todd] It was the most charming show I have ever seen until now, everything was made with a lot of efforts and work, that brought great results. The lights, the smoke machine and the other special effects just added beauty to the show, which was carried forward by the commitment and passion for what you love, that you always show . Watching the show has been a very big pleasure, Thank you very much, Stefania

I visited the open evening on Tuesday with my extremely reluctant daughter (she wanted to go to the same high school as her brother). I just wanted to let you know that we were both really impressed with the school and with all the teachers and students that we met. Our tour guide was great (sadly I can’t recall her name). She was very enthusiastic about her time at the school and a real credit to you. I left with a very happy and excited daughter who has told me that she does not want to go to any of the other open evenings we had lined up for the rest of this week and next and wants to make CHSG her first choice! I just wanted to thank you for the informative evening last night with regards to the Post 16 education options for our young daughters, even if it is suddenly making me feel a little old that I have a daughter that will soon be old enough to move on from school! Both myself and my husband found the evening extremely useful with regards to the opportunities available for M. The visitors were extremely knowledgeable and helpful in giving alternative perspectives to further education. I am certainly viewing apprenticeships with a different light now from when we were at school that's for sure. Thank you once again to you and your team for taking time out of your evening to speak to us about the next path ahead for our daughters it is very much appreciated. Kind Regards

Hello there! My partner and I came along with our daughter to your open evening on Tuesday 22nd September. I just wanted to pass on thanks and to bring to your attention two of your year 11 pupils; Robyn and Lois. From the moment we were welcomed on arrival they made sure we saw every part of the school. They engaged with my daughter asked her questions, her interests, asked what we were interested in seeing. They were extremely patient when we took longer in some of the D.T and Science areas and did their best to answer any questions we had. They both ensured our experience at Carshalton Girls was a good one and we certainly came away with a very good impression of the school.

As S's years at Carshalton High School have come to an end I would like to thank you all for all your hard work, support and encouragement that you have given her throughout her time here. I know S was extremely difficult in her earlier years and never wanted to come to this school. However I am not sure what happened in her last year as suddenly she started loving every minute of it and would come home full of enthusiasm and stories to tell. Thank you for all your encouragement and continued support with S in getting her to achieve this enthusiasm for learning. Us parents have got the easy job (well some times !!!) of raising our own kids. We are rewarded for all our sacrifices with the joy of watching out own blood grow up into fine young men and women. You teachers have got the tough job. There were days I could not deal with one stroppy teenager let alone a classroom full of them!! Your rewards are limited especially in regard to S with her often negative attitude towards you. I just wanted to say that all your encouragement and your wisdom has made a difference and not only to S but into the lives of all the girls you teach, helping them to be better human beings. Thank you for all your selfless sacrifices. I can't thank you enough for making S's years so happy and I know she takes with her some very happy memories.

It is always a challenge for teenagers attending a Work Experience Placement and Zoe certainly rose to that challenge …. perhaps you can relay our thoughts to her parents as they can be proud of their daughter and her approach to her time with us.
