“The most important thing in the Olympic games is not winning but taking part; the essential thing in life is not conquering but fighting well."
Pierre de Coubertin, Founder of the International Olympic Committee

The aim of the Physical Education department is to provide a wide, variable, diverse and enjoyable curriculum which appeals to students from Year 7 all the way up to the Sixth Form.  We aim to develop the learners’ physical, social and emotional skills through a range of practical activities both in lesson time and through extra-curricular clubs, which can be applied to all aspects of daily life.

We have high expectations of our learners. We expect them to participate fully regardless of ability as determination and perseverance are key skills to progress in PE and other subjects throughout all Key Stages.  We aim for high participation levels and a high enjoyment factor as we believe that our learners’ achieve best when they are enjoying what they are doing!
