Edexcel BTEC Level 1/Level 2 First Certificate in Health and Social Care
Examination Details
Students will be required to sit two 1 hour written examinations which makes up 25% of the qualification. This will take place under exam conditions and will be marked by Edexcel.
Grade: Level 2 Pass/Merit/Distinction or Distinction*, Level 1 and Unclassified

How is it taught?
Students will be involved in a number of activities including, research tasks, group work, presentations, discussions and individual portfolio work. They will also get the opportunity to present their work in a variety of forms, and will learn how to manage their own time in order to meet deadlines. Good written and oral communication skills are essential for this course.

It will suit any student who is seriously considering in a career in the care sector. This course is open to any student interested in the practice and delivery of care in health, social or educational settings, covering all age ranges.

What careers or courses does it lead to?
This course would be helpful for students who wish to work in the care sector. It is recommended that students complete a Key Stage 4 work placement in a related area. The qualification will also allow progression onto the Post 16 Level 3 course offered in the Sixth Form.
