In Years 7 to 8 students follow the National Curriculum but with an emphasis on literacy and numeracy.  They also follow modular programmes in the creative arts, humanities, technology, a modern foreign language, ICT, physical education (P.E.) and personal and social education.

In Year 9 students are able to choose their options for their GCSEs and are able to choose 8 different subjects as tasters so they can then make their final 4 choices for their GCSE subjects after the first term.  In Years 9, 10 and 11 all students take English Language, Mathematics and Science.

All subjects are taught in specialist teaching accommodation including ICT suites, Science Laboratories and a Technology Suites. All teaching areas are equipped with interactive whiteboards.  Video, digital cameras and video projectors are used to enhance teaching and learning.
