Charity Fundraising - Year 8
Save the Children is a charity that raises money to help save the lives of desperate children across the world. In just one year they managed to save 3 million children.
For Harvest Festival this year Miss Marshall set everybody in Year 8 a challenge to raise as much money for Save the Children as possible. All tutor groups took part and decided upon an event they wanted to run. These included a cinema, disco, fashion show, Christmas fair, bingo, cake sale and sponge throwing. Everyone worked really hard to raise money and altogether we managed to raise a grand total of £391.41.
A representative from the charity came into our assembly to hear the results and collect the cheque from the winning tutor group which was 8MDP who managed to raise £101.37.
A big thank you from Miss Marshall, to all tutors and students for raising such an amazing amount of money for a very worthwhile cause.
