At Carshalton High School for Girls we are committed to working together to ensure that students' choices for their GCSE options are appropriate and the process of choosing is as informed and stress free as possible.  We provide a number of pathways which will ensure that the option choices a student makes are appropriate for her and designed to maximise her potential.

 

Parents and students are invited to attend the Year 8 Option Evening to be held on Thursday 15^th March 2012 from 6.00pm – 8.00pm.  

 

There will be a talk by Mrs Jones, Headteacher and Mr Elstone, Deputy Headteacher.  There will be subject displays around the school where parents and students can get more information and can talk to subject staff about the different courses available.  A lot of information is given on the evening so it is highly recommended that parents and students attend.

 

In the preceding week, all students will be issued with their own Options booklet.  In this, there is an outline of all the choices available and also information on how to make these choices.  To personalise the offer, each student is placed on a curriculum pathway that reflects her ability.  More information on this will be given to the students prior to the evening and on the evening itself.
