Kingston University Student Ambassadors

A group of Year 10 students have been selected for a Kingston University Student Ambassador programme, which runs over four sessions.

Each session develops the relationship between the Kingston University Student Ambassadors and CHSG students.  Students taking part in the project need to attend all sessions, one of which is at Kingston University.

Session 1: The Kingston University Student Ambassadors visited school on 27th February to meet the CHSG students and encouraged discussion about student life, progression and the opportunities higher education can bring.

Session 2: Monday 26th Mar, 10am-11am (LRC).  The Kingston University Ambassadors deliver activities relating to independent learning skills and barriers that students may face to enter higher education and the broad range of opportunities available to them post-16.

Session 3: Thursday 19th April . The group visits the Student Ambassadors at Kingston University where they have the chance to explore the campus and work on a mini-research project, with staff from our Learning Resources Centre, that tackles issues of plagiarism and use of the internet.

Students will be travelling by train with the Party Leader, Mrs Greenland.  The meeting point will be at Carshalton Rail Station at 8:25 am and will return to school at approximately 1:30pm.  Students will need to make a contribution for the trip of £2 each, which will need to be paid in advance.  Students must wear correct uniform.

Session 4: Monday 23rd April. Kingston University Ambassadors visit school to research and take part in a live debate about higher education with students.

Each student involved will have the opportunity to be e-mentored (via a secure e-mentoring site) throughout the academic year by a Student Ambassador who will also be working during the face to face sessions.
