Street Dance Competition
One of our Year 10 Dance classes has been part of an exciting pilot project with Caroline Howard from Sutton Dance Academy.
Caroline is leading a 10 week project aiming to develop the students' understanding of street dance and its characteristics. The project has two main priorities. One is to help students develop a piece of choreography for their Unit 3 Performance piece based on the professional work Faultline by Shobana Jeyasingh; the other is to create a dance to be performed at Glenthorne High School as part of United Dance Organisations Street Dance Competition.
This exciting project was launched on ITV's Daybreak and is being promoted by the dance crew 'Diversity'. The heat takes place on Friday 18th November 2011 and we are hoping to take three crews to compete as well as a duet.
