Post 16 Option Choices

In Year 11 students will be applying for  Post 16 Options.

There is a confusing range of options including:

  • sixth forms
  • colleges
  • apprenticeship or work based learning
  • A levels, Applied A levels, BTECs, NVQs

In order to outline the choices available to students we are holding an information evening for parents on Monday 9th July at 6:30 pm.

This is not the Sixth Form Promotion Evening - there is another evening on 25th October when details of our Sixth Form will be outlined.

Although students are welcome to attend, the evening is primarily for parents. There is strong evidence that students rely on their parents support and advice at this important time of choosing what to do next and where to go.  We are holding this evening in response to parents’ requests for information and guidance on how to support their daughters.  Students will be given more detailed information at the start of Year 11 in September.

Mrs Compton, Deputy Head, will also take the opportunity to discuss the Raising Achievement Project (RAP) which takes place in Year 11.

We have also invited a local college and a training provider who offer apprenticeships.

For further information about this evening please contact Mrs J Greenland at jgreenland@suttonmail.org .
