Balloon Buggies
On Friday 3rd February Year 9 and 10 students made balloon buggies as part of an engineering project.
"We had to base it around a simple 2D shape and mine was a square while others made triangles or rectangles. I enjoyed racing my buggy the most. We learnt all about the axles and how a car balances and the minimum number of wheels a stable vehicle needs. I really enjoyed this activity." Ashleigh, 9SD
"We had to design and plan out which design would make it the most stable. We then made our buggies using a glue gun and sticks of wood. Once we made them we tested them and raced down the classroom which my buggie won! We learnt how to use a glue gun also what makes a buggie stable also which forces were used. I really enjoyed making the buggies as making stuff is what I love doing." Kate, 9ZC
