Jack Petchey Award Winners
Three more deserving winners have been decided this term.
The first is Nicola 13ER– who was nominated for her good nature. Nicola has undertaken almost 100 hours of volunteer work - helping in primary school and doing sports related activities with younger students. She is undertaking a 10k run for charity and to help raise money for her World Challenge trip. Nicola has chosen to give her £200 grant to the Sixth Form Common Room for a display board.
October’s winner is Robert Thompson (Premises Assistant) Robert was nominated by fellow staff members for his initiative and reacting quickly to intercept an intruder on school grounds. He called the police and the intruder was arrested. Robert has put his £200 grant towards a new “super-duper” saw so that odd and fiddly jobs can now get done quickly and safely.
Lastly for this term is November’s winner Malika 10CE Malika is a kind-hearted person who works hard and is always there if anyone needs help. She does lots of extra curriculum activities and tries very hard. She is polite and reliable and prepared to try anything. Malika has bought a visualiser for the History Department with her grant.
Many congratulations not only to our winners but also to the other students whose nominations were not successful. It is an achievement in itself to be nominated but sadly only one student a month can win.
