Hampton Court Palace - Real Tennis
AS and A2 PE students will travel to Hampton Court Palace on 22nd February to learn the history of Real Tennis and have a go at playing the game.
The students will leave school at 9.00 am and travel by bus to the Palace. During their A Level course they will study the history of sport and how the game of lawn tennis originated. Real Tennis used to be a highly popular sport amongst the gentry. Now it is played in very few places around the country. Hampton Court houses Henry VIII's Real Tennis court and here the students will learn all about the history of the game and have a go at playing the game. It is very different to lawn tennis!
