Dancers Shine at UDO Regional Event

November 18th was an exciting day for dancers as we attended the United Dance Organisation Street Dance Regional Event.

We entered three teams into the competition and three duets.  Eminence came 5th in their age category and this is the group who have been working with Caroline Howard as part of our partnership with Sutton Dance Academy.

‘Reckless’, who are a group run by our Sixth Former Tina’ finished in second place in their category.

‘Voltage’ gained first place and are the street cheer group organised by Miss Lowe.

Mali and Gbeke in Year 8 won the duet title for their age group while our other duets gained top 10 and top 5 places.

The atmosphere was electrifying on that evening and the girls did extremely well in the competition. This meant they were put through to the finals in Blackpool on 3rd December. The girls attended the event and had an amazing time performing and were inspired by the groups and high standard of dance they watched.

Many thanks to Miss Lowe and the parents who made this trip possible by accompanying the students. The PE and Dance department saw this as a great opportunity for our dancers to perform at such a high profile event.
