Swimming Sensation
On Friday the London team had to meet in Starbucks ready to board the train to Sheffield. Nick (team coach of the London squad and Lauren's personal coach) said to Lauren "Are you looking forward to the competition?" to which Lauren replied "No" but by the end Lauren discovered she had had the most amazing time and returned home weighed down by not one, but three gold medals.
Lauren completed a 100m Freestyle, 100m Backstroke and 50m Freestyle coming first in all three races and beating her personal best in all three. Lauren celebrated victory in style at Pizza Hut with the team and coaches who were ordered to refill the drinks for every competitor whenever they needed one. Lauren did not even mind missing out on watching her favourite T.V. programme Harry Hill on Saturday night because she was having such a good time. Lauren has lost count of the number of medals she has won since she started competing aged 10 but Lauren believes its more about having fun than winning although she does admit that winning feels good!! Lauren's next big challenge will be in the autumn when the event becomes international.
