Food Technology GCSE coursework this year focuses on traditional bakeries and supermarket in store bakeries.

 

Students are required to design and make an attractively finished product to be sold from a supermarket’s in-store bakery.

 

To enhance students' understanding of this subject a trip has been arranged to take students to the bakery in Asda on Sutton High Street.  During the visit students will be given a tour of the bakery and shown exactly how the products are made.  This will enable students to see the wide range of products available and provide them with inspiration for their own written and practical work.

 

Students will meet Miss MacKinnon at Asda on Sutton High Street.  The visit will last approximately 1 hour 30 minutes then students will walk back to school with Miss MacKinnon.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for students to gain valuable information to help with GCSE coursework.
