Design & Technology Challenge
The Design and Technology department were given the challenge of designing and making the new House Trophy from objects found around the school site.
During lesson students were invited to come up with design ideas from objects such as the inside of photocopying machines, fans and wires salvaged from a skip!
Using elements from these ideas and the inspiration of the willow tree that can be found near the site of the old pond by the field, the design took shape. Copper wire from recent rewiring within the school was stripped back and used for the main shape. The school emblem of the Tudor rose was felt to be a significant part of the design and the copper shapes taken from this were enamelled in the house colours. The base was formed from wood taken from another tree that had been felled some time ago.
The trophy was presented to the winning house at prize giving on 15th September
