National Storytelling Week Celebration

Carshalton High School for Girls recent celebrated National Storytelling Week, the week beginning 31st January. Storytelling is as old as human speech and for the second year running, we have many activities to celebrate the art of storytelling.

Throughout the week, most students heard at least one story in their lessons, played a storytelling game, or had a story activity. In art, students made shadow puppets and some Year 11 maths students were pleasantly surprised to see Mrs Compton, all cosy with a book, ready to read an extract from Goodnight Mr Tom or The Life of Pi.

The highlight of the week was Friday’s dressing up day. Many students entered into the spirit of the theme of Myths and Legends and were eligible for the competition.
