World Record Dance Attempt
WE LIKE TO MOVE IT! On the 1st of July at 11.40 am, 193 students from Year 8 performed a dance to “I Like To Move It” on the schools netball courts. This was an event set up by Save School Sports to break the world record of the number of dancers performing the same dance at the same time.
During Learning Skills Day teachers worked incredibly hard to teach the girls the set routine in a very short period of time. The girls worked even harder to learn the dance. On the day they performed the number to a very high standard and did not even mind that they had to repeat the same dance over and over again for 5 minutes!
We are still waiting to hear whether we have made the record book!
Well done to all the Year 8 students who took part and thank you to all the teachers who were involved in teaching and supporting. We will be entering another Dance Record Breaking Attempt next year as part of the build up to the London 2012 Olympics.
