Kwik Cricket Tournament
The tournament was held on Monday 16th May when four of the clusters’ Primaries participated. Abbey Primary, Rushy Meadow, Muschamp and Tweeddale brought along their teams of six to compete and as the event was run on both sides of the Astro all teams were able to play at the same time.
Overs per game were limited and each member of the fielding team rotated their positions to ensure that each had a bowling opportunity. Batters therefore had to take full advantage of the balls bowled to them (even the no-balls!) to score as many runs as possible within the allocated number of overs for each game.
The competition was well contested, with a number of 6s and 4s being scored by some excellently placed strikes over the boundary. Several of the children were obviously involved in cricket in their schools and some in clubs outside school as the play was generally of a high standard.
Muschamp Primary won the event and will go through to their finals event next week for that side of the Partnership. Our cluster school, Rushy Meadow will play at the other SSP finals on the same day.
