January Maths GCSE Results
Some of our Year 11 students were entered for their GCSE Maths in November 2011 and they got their results in January 2012.
The students we entered all sat the foundation tier to try and ensure that they got a C Grade (the highest grade you can get on the foundation tier) . We were pleased that many of them achieved a C Grade and some will resit in March to try and improve this further to a B Grade. The rest of Year 11 will also be entered for their GCSE in Maths in March 2012 and they will have immersion days beforehand to help them prepare for this.
The Year 11 students had a “Mock Results” afternoon in December when they got their mock exam results, as usual this was an emotional afternoon but gave them the chance to experience the nerves and anticipation before results come out. They have the opportunity to improve their grades before the summer exams and reflect on how successful their revision was and if they need to amend their methods.
Year 11 “Raising Achievement Project (RAP)” pink T shirts have been issued to those students who got 5 or more E grades (Excellent) on their reports and to those who achieved their target grades in three or more mock exams.
It is wonderful that so many of the Year 11 students now have a T shirt and those who have not can now complete revision sessions in order to gain one.
