On Thursday 3rd November 2011 students from Years 7-11 took part in the annual Borough Cross Country Championships held at Roundshaw Park.

 

This event sees all schools in the Borough of Sutton compete against one another for the top spot, each section having over 50 competitors fighting for the top spot.

 

There were some fantastic performances from all girls despite the wind and rain and cold conditions.  The Year 7 students kicked off this event running 1 mile with Connie, 7AHU, being the highest placed Year 7 student from CHSG.

 

Next up on the start line were the Year 8 and Year 9 students who ran a 2 mile course with Dipali 8WR, leading the way for the Year 8 CHSG team and coming 45th overall, followed closely by Alisha 8CEM.  Molly 9HJK, led the way for the Year 9 team, finishing in a very commendable 17th place, with Leah 9CL, hot on her heels in 19th place.

 

Last to run were the Year 10 and Year 11 students running a 2 mile course.  This team were our highest placed in the whole event.  Ellen 11IA showed an outstanding performance finishing 6th, Rebecca 10LC finished 7th, Charlotte 10CK finished 15th, Selin 11HS finished 17th, Alise 11AL finished in 23rd place, Ella 11HS secured 27th place. 

 

Senel 13MS was our only Sixth Form representative finishing in a very creditable 26th place.
