Year 12 students & Peter Kyte
This was a follow up visit from a visit to Croydon and gave the students a chance to shoot in the busy and vibrant location of Trafalgar Square and down towards the River.
Students are basing their first project on Street Art which is inspired by Peter Kyte. Students were taught how to work their camera on manual settings and also taught to use aperture and shutter speed priority to experiment with their camera settings.
Students were asked to consider their compositions carefully and try and take pictures of frames within frames, ‘rules of three’, line, shape, pattern and contrasts to gain interesting photographs. Once the students had become confident in taking photographs of ‘people and places’ they were then asked to break the rules by moving the camera, shooting from the hip, up high or down low and to try and take images outside of their comfort zones.
The sun was shining and students produced fantastic images on the day! Please see some of their work below..
