Year 8 Netball
The week beginning 23rd January was a busy week for the Year 8 Netball team with three matches in four days.
On Monday we played Greenshaw High; this was a tight game as we started in front and remained in front during the four quarters but Greenshaw kept up the pressure to try to equal us. The game finished 9-6 to CHSG. Well done all those who played.
On Wednesday, again we played well against Overton High, but unfortunately were beaten 17-7. Despite playing really well, our team were defeated by a very strong team who are, apparently, currently being trained by England Netball coaches.
On Thursday we ended the week on a high with a 13-4 win against Stanley Park High. Our first three goals came within the first minute and a half, and then we continued with this lead. This was a harder games for the team as we were playing two 12-minute halves, whereas we are used to playing four 6-minute quarters, giving us more time to rest. The team all rose to this challenge and Wiktoria and Hannah worked extremely well in the D together.
Well done to all the girls who played; the girls are really improving at the moment and this has been helped by their dedication to their team.
