Year 7 & 8 Football v Sutton High School (H)

The Year 7 and 8 students started off the 5 a side football season with two good wins over Sutton High.  One game ended in a single goal victory to Carshalton Girls and the other match was completed with a solid 2-0 win.

This was the first time many of the girls were representing the school in football and for some the first time they were playing a competitive match.

The squad: Ellie, 7HM; Olivia, 7HM; Glory ,7JM; Jazzy, 8EF; Maisie, 8EF; Chloe 8WR; Leigh 8DW; Jade, 8CEM; Wiktoria, 8CEM; Suzy, 8EF and Danielle, 8MDP.

Danielle scored the winning goal in the 1-0 victory over Sutton High, wonderfully set up by Chloe who had a tremendous game for Carshalton Girls.  Wiktoria, who has represented the school on a number of occasions, was simply brilliant in defence and protected our 1-0 advantage.  A good performance from all including a debut for Maisie who worked hard alongside Leigh.

Suzy opened the scoring with a wonderful shot to bring about a well deserved lead for Carshalton Girls in the second game. The girls played well and provided some great football that Mr Pacha, who was refereeing, could only dream about.  Ellie was simply sensational, working from the back with confidence and maturity. Ellie's great performance was topped off with a stunning goal which Carshalton Girls is unlikely to see again. Suzy showed great industry and resilience dominating the midfield.  Glory took turns with Jazzy to play in goal and both girls acquitted themselves well.  Jade, Glory and Suzy had further chances however the Sutton High goalkeeper was in great form.

The year 7 and 8 students now look forward to a tournament at 'Goals' in North Cheam, being organised by Greenshaw on the 4th May for our next fixture.

Thanks go to Jess and Mr Pacha for refereeing the games.
