Sutton Under 13 Football Tournament

The football tournament was organised by Crystal Palace, who invited Sutton Borough schools to enter into the Tournament on 4th November 2011. We entered two year 7 teams, Carshalton High School for Girls A and B Teams to take part in the event held at Goals in North Cheam.

To start off with, both teams took some time to settle into their games and work with each other, but they soon started to respond to the coaching tips which resulted in a massive improvement in the standard of their play.  In the last couple of games there was a huge improvement compared to the first games. They were all working much better as a team and were really enjoying themselves.
 

In Team A there was some great play, in particular some good goal keeping from Nicole 7CC, who saved lots of shots on goal along with Ellie 7HM who was also very noticeable with her ability to drive the ball forward up the pitch.

In Team B Olivia 7JM also worked well in the goal area to stop more goals getting in.  There was a great goal from Jadeen 7RK from well into the opposition’s half and some brilliant tackling being made by Zoe 7RK, after some extra coaching from Miss Marshall

Miss Marshall and I were very impressed with the Carshalton High School for Girls'  teams at this tournament;  they did so well considering the girls had never played together before.  It was clear that they learnt a lot on the day.
